Business and research have joined forces with the local authorities to launch several key programmes.

The diversity of the longstanding links between industry, universities and research has given rise to several key programmes in Grenoble-Isère. With backing from the local authorities the various players have joined forces to develop emerging technologies.
The determination to give all industrial sectors the benefit of technological innovation and thus boost their competitivity has led to the launch of several initiatives such as METIS, Tenerrdis, Minalogic and Techtera.
Grenoble-Isère, a model competitivity centre, is involved in two of France's global centres:

• Minalogic, micro-smart devices
• LyonBiopole, micro-instrumentation / biochips (diagnostics and vaccines)
