The Canceropole Lyon Auvergne Rhône-Alpes was started as part of the Plan Cancer initiative and the National Cancer Institute (INC), in the larger context of the national campaign to combat cancer. The centre aims to pool the energies of universities and research centres, hospitals and industry in Auvergne and Rhône-Alpes and capitalize on them.
The Canceropole is determined to find industrial outlets for innovation, and to catalyse economic activity around powerful technology platforms by optimizing technology transfer.
The centre is the fruit of concerted action by the Ministry of Research, the Ministry of Health, the Plan Cancer, the National Cancer Institute (INC), Rhône-Alpes Regional Council, Rhône Departmental Council, Greater Lyon Urban Council, Auvergne Regional Council, Feder, Clermont Ferrand Urban Council, in association with the scientific, medical and industrial communities of Rhône-Alpes and Auvergne.
