A growing industry in the European market

The food industry in Grenoble-Isère centers on meat, meat-processing and milk, but still has some valuable assets in traditional activities in arable and livestock farming.
Twenty thousand people work on farms and the food industry accounts for 4 000 jobs in related activities, such as paper, packaging or distribution.

The food industry in Isère is characterized by diversity - from small farm producers, innovative small- and medium-sized companies, such as Martinet and Luxos, and large corporations such as sara Lee, Yoplait and Danone.
