Le département de l'Isère county

With a surface of 7 431 km2, l'Isère is the 16th French county.
The territory is divided in three administrative district: Grenoble (prefecture), La Tour du Pin (sous-prefecture), Vienne (sous-prefecture).
Isère county is composed of 58 cantons gathering 533 communes.

Economical action of Isère county council

In economy, the decentralization laws haven't entrust large competences to the county council. However, the Isère county council choose to intervene. Its actions focused towards a unique aim: employement.

• Favour industrial and commercial activities
• Develop research and technology transfer
• Promote tourism and mountain
• Support agriculture that is a land manager.
